To practice self-kindness, these are the questions you must ask yourself.
The answer to this question doesn't need to be something big but modest. It doesn't need to take too much time - if you don't have any, try to do something doable. Do something that you can do for yourself, no matter how small an act of kindness towards yourself it is.
For example, make a tasty breakfast by using a new recipe or do stretching for 15 minutes. You can do something different every day, and I assure you it will boost your happiness.
You don't need to think from a materialistic perspective - setting a boundary or taking time out of the day to check in with yourself are powerful actions towards self-kindness. And it can bring more peace and power to you than any expensive spa day. Even though a spa day is an amazing way to relax as well. :)
Or make sure you have slept enough (on average, a person has to sleep 7-9 hours) – if you feel you aren't, then take a little nap during the day (it will improve your well-being and be more energetic).
It's time to listen more to your body and its needs.
Take paper and pen. Write down everything you are thankful for in life. This activity encourages gratitude and, several studies show that it can positively impact mental health - increase joy and boost happiness.
Recognizing the things that are causing stress to you can help you find ways how to positively deal with them. As a result, you will be able to find solutions that will allow you to reduce their impact on you.
Also, if you feel stressed but can't find the reason for it, try to do some relaxing activities. For example, breathing techniques are a great way for stress relief.
Remember, your mental health is important. Your emotions are valid. You are worthy. It's time to be kinder to yourself from now on. Also, November 13th – World kindness day – will be a special day for you because you will be able to celebrate your self-kindness progression/achievment!
In the comment section, tell your experience with self-kindness and what else would you suggest to achieve it. We are looking forward to your answer! :)
