Kelsey, A Traveling mom and a Wellness Enthusiast Shares Amazing Tips To Improve Self-Love.

Kelsey Hoogstad is a creative, fun-loving, and adventurous spirit with a background in fine arts and design. 5 years ago she packed up her life in NYC and moved to London where she began a new adventure and is now a full-time mom of two.

After going through a deep depression of her own she turned to holistic well-being as a way out. It was her focus on mindset and nutrition that led her to not only becoming the confident, energized, and driven woman she is known for but is also what led to her creating the business and community she represents today.

These are Kelsey's tips on how to improve self-love

1. Start your day with you!

It’s so easy to get carried away in the morning chaos of having kids. Getting them up, changed, and fed. Not to mention the added stress of having a smartphone where we have undoubtedly absorbed someone else’s opinion, thoughts, or stress before we’ve even poured our morning coffee or tea.

“When you take control of your mornings, you take control of your days. You get to engage with the world under your terms. You can act, instead of reacting.” Hal Elrod

Try starting your morning with any combination of silence, affirmations, visualization, exercise, reading, and scribing. This practice could last 15 minutes or an hour, it’s completely up to what you can work into your routine. Keep your phone aside during this time and watch as your energy, confidence, and mood shift for the better.

2. Learn to love your flaws!

It’s far too easy to get absorbed into unrealistic expectations when we are seeing influencer after influencer living a seemingly perfect life. We scroll through social media feeling significantly more stress, pressure, and anxiety as we go. So don’t be shy to unfollow accounts that don’t build you up. Find people that inspire you, that share valuable content that leaves you feeling better than when you first arrived. Follow those who don’t shy away from the hard stuff but remain solution-focused, those that encourage you to know your worth and be your best self even when life isn’t perfect. If your feed is filled with this level of energy, even when you catch yourself in a scroll hole, you’ll end up in a much better state.

3. Follow the Joy!

I can’t tell you the number of times I have conversations with people where they put off their own well-being because it’s not fun. Good nutrition and exercise is a MUST if you want to feel your best but if you hate salads and running and that’s what those words mean to you then, of course, you’ll avoid them at all costs. It might take a little trial and error but find recipes, exercise classes, community groups, and support systems that excite you! Not a fan of running? What about carnival fitness! Or ballet barre!? Have you ever tried a Tabata workout or maybe even a daily walk through nature with your favorite podcast playing? Trust me when I say that the second you fall in love with nutritious foods and workouts the game changes. Loving yourself will be easier than you ever imagined possible!
